Tory MEP’s Withering Attack on Devalued Brown Becomes Huge Internet Hit

CONSERVATIVE MEP has launched a spectacular attack on Gordon Brown - branding him 'devalued' and 'wooden' in front of a stunned European Parliament.

Daniel Hannan, the Conservative MEP for South East England, claimed the Prime Minister had lost all moral authority and even labelled him a 'Brezhnev apparatchik'.

The 37-year-old's speech on Tuesday, which prompted spontaneous applause in the Strasbourg chamber, has become a massive internet hit - with more than 700,000 views on YouTube in less than 24 hours.

Nearly 5,000 people have already posted comments under the video praising Hannan as 'powerful and courageous'. One American web user even begged Hannan to become THEIR president, adding 'We need people like him in America."

During the three-and-a-half minute speech, Hannan - Britain's youngest ever MEP - mocked Gordon Brown directly for his role in the global financial crisis.

He said: "Within a few days of the Irish saying no to the Lisbon Treaty - you rammed it through British parliament and did it breaking a specific manifesto pledge that you would give the British people a referendum on the constitutional treaty.

"You have devalued the democracy in our country you have devalued the trust that voters have got in you as a British Prime Minister. And we know the reason why is because we would have voted no.

"You cannot continue against public opinion to build this European Union. If you do it against the will of the people you are storing up enormous social and political problems for the future. Please please let the peoples of Europe decide their destiny don't have it done in parliaments like this and Westminster - it won't work."

The attack did not end there, as Mr Farrage moved on to the subject of the economy. Visibly incensed, he almost shouted at the Prime Minister, who sat smirking as he listened to the onslaught.

Blasting Gordon Brown's handling of the economic crisis, he said: "You've destroyed our private pensions system, you've took away from the Bank of England its ability to regulate the banks and given it to the tick-box bureaucrats at the FSA in Canary Wharf.

"And we haven't heard heard an apology. Your government has apologised for the Emirates Sar massacre, you've apologised for slavery, you've apologised for virtually everything. Will you please apologise for what you did as British Chancellor and then perhaps we might just listen to you."

Bishops deliver damning verdict on Britain under Labour rule

Five of the Church’s most senior figures said the Government now presided over a country suffering from family breakdown, an unhealthy reliance on debt and a growing divide between rich and poor.

The Bishop of Manchester accused Labour of being “beguiled by money” and “morally corrupt”.

The Bishop of Hulme said they were “morally suspect” and the Bishop of Durham said they had reneged on their promises.

They were joined by the bishops of Winchester and Carlisle who claimed ministers had squandered their opportunity to transform society and run out of steam.

The bishops said Labour sacrificed principled politics and long-term solutions for policies designed to win votes. One described the Government as “tired” and another said its policies were “scandalous”.

Meanwhile, in an article for The Sunday Telegraph, David Cameron accused Gordon Brown of leading Britain to the “brink of bankruptcy”.

The Conservative leader said the “debt crisis”, which he claimed was the Government’s responsibility alone, would serve as the Prime Minister’s “political epitaph”.

Although they were speaking independently in a series of interviews with The Sunday Telegraph, the bishops’ common criticisms reflect the deepening rift between the Government and the Church on social and moral issues. Relations have become increasingly fractious following condemnation of Mr Brown’s spending plans by Dr Rowan Williams, the Archbishop of Canterbury, and the publication of a report that accused the Government of marginalising the Church.

In February, the General Synod, the Church’s parliament, will hold a debate on the implications of the financial crisis that is expected to lead to heavy criticism of the Government. The Rt Rev Tom Wright, the Bishop of Durham, said ministers had not done enough to help the poor.

“Labour made a lot of promises, but a lot of them have vanished into thin air,” he said. “We have not seen a raising of aspirations in the last 13 years, but instead there is a sense of hopelessness.

“While the rich have got richer, the poor have got poorer. When a big bank or car company goes bankrupt, it gets bailed out, but no one seems to be bailing out the ordinary people who are losing their jobs and seeing their savings diminished.”

The Rt Rev Nigel McCulloch, the Bishop of Manchester, condemned Labour for encouraging people to get further into debt. “The Government has acted scandalously. This is not just an economic issue, but a moral one. It’s about what we value,” he said.

“The Government believes that money can answer all of the problems and has encouraged greed and a love of money that the Bible says is the root of all evil. It is morally corrupt because it encourages people to get into a lifestyle of believing they can always get what they want.”

Bishop McCulloch said New Labour was guilty of pursuing the policies championed by Margaret Thatcher, which the Church condemned in its landmark 1985 report, Faith in the City. It blamed Thatcherite policies for the growth of spiritual and economic poverty in Britain’s inner cities.

“Both administrations have been beguiled by money,” said Bishop McCulloch.

“It is ironic that under a Labour government we have the poor feeling they have been betrayed and the gap is getting ever greater. Any government of integrity would have exercised restraint, but this has been sadly lacking.”

The Rt Rev Stephen Lowe, the Church’s Bishop for Urban Life and Faith and also the Bishop of Hulme, said: “The Government isn’t telling people who are already deep in debt to stop overextending themselves, but instead is urging us to spend more.

“That is morally suspect and morally feeble. It is unfair and irresponsible of the Government to put pressure on the public to spend in order to revive the economy.”

Bishop Lowe suggested that it was a cynical ploy to improve the economy in time for the next general election.

“They are trying to take the credit for this, but are playing with people’s livelihoods in the process.” The bishop commissioned a Church report, Moral, But No Compass, published earlier this year, which said Labour had failed society and marginalised the Church.

It revealed the level of unease felt among senior clerical figures over the direction being taken by the Government.

The Rt Rev Graham Dow, the Bishop of Carlisle, and the Rt Rev Michael Scott-Joynt, the Bishop of Winchester, said Labour deserved credit for some past achievements but it was struggling to balance its conscience with the pressure to win the next election.

“I agree with the Conservatives that the breakdown of the family is a crucial element in the difficulties of our present society,” said Bishop Dow.

“The Government hasn’t given sufficient support to that because it is scared of losing votes.” He argued that Labour’s failure to back marriage and its “insistence on supporting every choice of lifestyle” had had a negative effect on society. “I think Labour has got tired,” he said. Bishop Scott-Joynt said: “The Government hasn’t done anything like enough to help those less well off, particularly in terms of tax redistribution. There also has been the disaster of the 10p tax.

“It is imperative that this Government help the poorer people and hold the hard-hit communities in its sights, but it seems to have its eye on re-election instead.”

A senior ministerial source said: “The Government has a proud record on promoting fairness and opportunity for all, combating poverty and in tackling Third World debt and promoting international development.

“We also believe it is morally right to provide real help and resources to people facing unemployment or worried about losing their homes.”

G8 summit: Gordon Brown has eight-course dinner before food crisis talks

Gordon Brown and his fellow world leaders have sparked outrage after it was disclosed they enjoyed a six-course lunch followed by an eight-course dinner at the G8 summit where the global food crisis tops the agenda.

The Prime Minister was served 24 different dishes during his first day at the summit – just hours after urging the world to reduce the "unnecessary demand" for food and calling on British families to cut back on their wasteful use of food.

Mr Brown and his wife Sarah were among 15 guests at the "blessings of the earth and the sea social dinner".

The dinner consisted of 18 dishes in eight courses including caviar, smoked salmon, Kyoto beef and a "G8 fantasy dessert".

The banquet was accompanied by five different wines from around the world including champagne, a French Bourgogne and sake.

African leaders including the heads of Ethiopia, Tanzania and Senegal who had taken part in talks during the day were not invited to the function.

The dinner came just hours after a "working lunch" consisting of six courses including white asparagus and truffle soup, crab and a supreme of chicken.

The lavish dining arrangements – disclosed by the Japanese Government which is hosting the summit in Hokkaido – come amid growing concern over rising food prices triggered by a shortage of many basic necessities.

On the flight to the summit, Mr Brown urged Britons to cut food waste as part of a global drive to help avert the food crisis.

Opposition politicians and charities condemned the extravagant meals.

Dominic Nutt, of Save the Children, said: "It is deeply hypocritical that they should be lavishing course after course on world leaders when there is a food crisis and millions cannot afford a decent meal to eat.

"If the G8 wants to betray the hopes of a generation of children, it is going the right way about it. The food crisis is an emergency and the G8 must treat it as that."

Andrew Mitchell, the shadow International Development Secretary, said: "The G8 have made a bad start to their summit, with excessive cost and lavish consumption.

"Surely it is not unreasonable for each leader to give a guarantee that they will stand by their solemn pledges of three years ago at Gleneagles to help the world's poor. All of us are watching, waiting and listening."

Mr Brown arrived at the G8 summit held on the holiday island of Hokkaido in northern Japan on Monday morning.

He arrived on a plane chartered from Texas, America, which had to fly empty for thousands of miles to pick up the Prime Minister and his entourage.

Unlike other countries, Britain does not have an official plane to transport the Prime Minister.

The lavish dining will embarrass Mr Brown, who has made tackling the global food crisis a key priority.

On the flight to the summit, the Prime Minister urged British people to cut food waste and "reduce unnecessary demand".

He said: "We need a global plan to deal with rising food prices that are affecting millions of families in Britain. That's why I am proposing that we take action to both increase the global supply of food and reduce unnecessary demand.

"If we are to get food prices down, we must also do more to deal with unnecessary demand, such as by all of us doing more to cut our food waste which is costing the average household in Britain around £8 per week."

Talks between world leaders at the summit will focus on dealing with soaring food and oil prices.

There is also hope for a breakthrough on protracted talks to secure a new global trade deal.

However, the leaders are facing criticism amid allegations that pledges for development aid promised for the third world at a previous G8 summit in Scotland have been watered down.

The Prime Minister's spokesman declined to comment on the menus.

MPs reject EU treaty referendum

Originally called the Reform Treaty, the Lisbon Treaty was drawn up to replace the draft European constitution after it was thrown out by voters in France and the Netherlands in 2005.

The Lisbon Treaty was signed in the Portuguese capital by leaders of the EU's 27 member states in December 2007. Governments have been asked to ratify the Treaty in 2008 with a view to it coming into force in 2009.

The Lisbon Treaty is in effect the same European constitution that was rejected the first time around, just dressed up slightly differently and called a different name.

Once again the government of the UK has not listened to the people, ‘they’ have decided to force the constitution through no matter what the public opinion is on this matter. We, in Europe are now one step closer to a One World Government and a New World Order. Gordon Brown is certainly obeying the banking interests and elite's of this world, which include no other than Philip Rothschild.

The new constitutional document, signed at a ceremony at the city's historic Jeronimos Monastery in Lisbon, scraps veto powers in many policy areas and eventually endorses a full time president for Europe. The new treaty removes veto powers from member nations and removes France and the UK from the UN security council! This further decays the sovereignty from all member countries.

The final stages of a single European government are being finalised.

UN transformation proposed to create 'new world order'

Gordon Brown has begun secret talks with other world leaders on far-reaching reform of the United Nations Security Council as part of a drive to create a "new world order" and "global society".

The Prime Minister is drawing up plans to expand the number of permanent members in a move that will provoke fears that the veto enjoyed by Britain could be diluted eventually. The United States, France, Russia and China also have a veto but the number of members could be doubled to include India, Germany, Japan, Brazil and one or two African nations.

Mr Brown has discussed a shake-up of a structure created in 1945 to reflect the world's new challenges and power bases during his four-day trip to China and India. Last night, British sources revealed "intense discussions" on UN reform were under way and Mr Brown raised it whenever he met another world leader.

The Prime Minister believes the UN is punching below its weight. In 2003, it failed to agree on a fresh resolution giving explicit approval for military action in Iraq. George Bush then acted unilaterally, winning the support of Tony Blair.

UN reform is highly sensitive and Britain will not yet publish formal proposals for fear of uniting opponents against them. Mr Brown is trying to build a consensus for change first.

We are well aware now that Gordon Brown is just a puppet for the ‘elite’ of this world to enable them to carry out their murderous and evil crimes. Scrap the archaic shift patterns of all doctors and nurses. Scrap all league tables. Create a national research centre to carry out stem cell and DNA research. Adopt the new ‘sound wave/nano technology systems’ being suppressed to cure cancer. Adopt a more ‘healing’ NHS rather than just offering ‘quick fix’ solutions by employing more spiritual healers. Employ Dr. Sue Arrigo, M.D to supply answers to the national research centre regarding the cure for the AIDS virus. Release information to the public regarding the AIDS virus and its origins with a view to stopping the spread of this deadly disease. Abolish the payment of billions of pounds over the next 10 years to the corrupt drug companies by investing the money in curing diseases rather than endlessly suppressing them.

Peace and Defence

Pull all British troops out of Iraq and Afghanistan immediately. Create a new peace keeping force with the help of other nations to clean up the mess previous governments have left behind. With the help of other nations send British peace keeping troops to places like Darfur and secure lasting peace in other troubled parts of the globe. Abolish Trident immediately. Abolish the use and further creation of any nuclear weapons systems and scrap all nuclear weapons within 5 years. Halve the defence budgets within 5 years and re-invest the money into health care and better living conditions for the people of the UK. Play no part in attacking any nation in the future purely for their resources. Scrap the MOD and create a peacekeeping and protection agency in its place. Abolish with immediate effect MI5 and MI6. Stop the selling of arms to foreign nations. Stop the financing and arming of black ops and Special Forces in places like Iran, Turkey, Iraq, The West Bank and Afghanistan. Stop with immediate effect the arming of Fatah to try and over throw the legitimately elected government of Hamas. Release to the public why we really went to war with Iraq and the Falklands and what the ‘elite’s’ aim has been since the start of World War I.

Finance

Abolish the council tax with immediate effect and replace it with a new structured 3 tier income tax system that is fair for all, the more you earn, the more you pay! Nurses, police and certain other groups in employment would benefit from a 3rd tier tax allowance, giving them a reduction in taxable pay. Use the defence budget savings and savings from other wasted areas of the establishment and re-invest all the money equally amongst society in areas such as health care and poverty stricken areas. Look at why most businesses now trade abroad and re-establish British industry. Create new forms of wealth by creating and adopting new technologies, sciences and inventions here in the UK with a view to exporting most goods abroad rather than importing most goods. Heavily tax all executives who earn more than a million pound in bonuses. Adopted strict regulation for all banks and financial institutions to root out the ‘elite’ who control the flow of money to illegal operations and disrupt the running of the country. Make the banking system fair for the people of the UK. Allow buy to let landlords a maximum of three houses, including the one they live in.

Foreign policy

Prevent the IMF and G8 from bullying developing nations into opening up markets to big western corporations. Create a peaceful alliance with as many nations as possible regardless of their current status and work together for lasting peace around the globe. Try for crimes against humanity anyone who actively seeks to disrupt the new government of the UK. Work to abolish poverty in places like Africa.

Environment

Release information on climate change and tell the public the truth that global warming is partly caused by a natural cycle of events. Carbon emissions would be eradicated due to new forms of energy. Ban GM crops. Invest more money and time into improving the environment for all and help those who get affected by the warming of the planet.

Energy

Create a secure R&D facility to explore the principles of clean free energy such as Zero Point Energy (ZPE) and bring this to the open market for ALL to use. Work closely and fund/support organisations such as Aero2012. The possibilities for this new energy are endless and could provide us with a quantum leap in having clean, cheap and decentralised energy for the whole world, thus eliminating poverty and restoring the environment.

Education

Create academies across the UK for all school children. The schooling of the youngest members of the UK should continue up and until they are 18 years of age. The extended time will allow them to learn a trade, or to prepare for university as a scientist etc. (This idea was sent to the current government of the UK about 12 months ago. They have since ‘borrowed the idea’)

Homeland

The royal family and the House of Lords would be abolished within a year and stripped of all money, property and assets. The savings made by doing this would fund the new school and health system. With immediate effect the BBC would be stripped of its licence and a new 24 hour news channel that is independent of the new government but is regulated by the people would be formed. The new 24 hour news channel would serve the people in order that it broadcasts the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth 24 hours a day. The news channel would also keep checks on the government rather than passively following it down the same line. Other BBC channels would either seek funding via advertising or close down. With immediate effect all information that has been suppressed in the interest of ‘national security’ would be released. With immediate effect the people responsible for disrupting and hijacking this country for so long and for using previous governments as ‘puppets’ would be arrested and tried for crimes against humanity, wherever they currently reside in the world.

Principles of Government

The new government would be based on the outskirts of York. A building would be utilised that is already available saving millions of pounds in building a new government building. Each town would elect a Council of Government member and all Council of Government members would sit in the Council of Government. Other members of the public who are qualified or have already worked in various fields such as the NHS would stand to be elected as the health manager, finance manager etc. No Council of Government member would be able to be a manager of health etc at the same time as being a Council of Government member for their respective town. Another member of the public would stand to be elected in the presidential role. All Council of Government members, all managers and the president would meet and decide on various issues, these meetings will be open for the public to view and comment on. Important issues will be decided by the Council of Government and then passed to the country to vote on. ALL Council of Government members, health manager’s etc and the presidents salary would be halved with immediate effect.
Local councils and mayors around the UK would be abolished and the Council of Government member for their respective area would lead a team of support staff.
A general election would be held every 5 years without fail for all the roles above. The new government would fund no opposition parties. The new government would not be responsible to a political party they would be responsible to the people they serve.
